- 1/4 c Bonne Maman Red Fruits Fruit Spread
- 1 Sheet Puff Pastry
- 1 Small Wheel Brie
- 1 Whole Egg
- 1/4 c Roasted, Chopped Walnuts
- Flour, for rolling
- Parchment paper
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Beat egg with fork in small bowl to create egg wash.
On a lightly floured surface, gently roll thawed (follow instructions on product box) puff pastry flat.
Using a sharp knife, carefully peel rind from all sides of cheese. Cut wheel into two even layers.
Place ½ of the brie wheel into the center of the rolled-out puff pastry and top with roasted walnuts and Bonne Maman Red Fruits Fruit Spread – More Fruit, Less Sugar*. Place the remaining half of the brie wheel on top.
Gently fold up sides of puff pastry over the cheese, fully enclosing it and trimming excess.
Using a pastry brush, brush the areas, with prepared egg wash, where the pastry comes together in order to seal it shut. Flip brie over so that it’s seam-side down and brush the entire dish with a light coating of egg wash.
Bake for 20 minutes, or until puff pastry is golden brown. Rotate halfway through for even baking. Serve immediately with crackers, nuts, and fresh fruit slices.
Notes: Removing cheese rind is optional. Removing the rind will change the flavor and also allow the melted cheese filling to escape the wheel more easily when cut.
With the excess puff pastry, you can use cookie cutters to create beautiful shapes to decorate with. Just make shapes and apply them to the top of your puff pastry with a little egg wash.
Want to add a little sweetness? Put some brown sugar in the center of the cheese.
