Apricot-Brûléed Grapefruit

Apricot-Brûléed Grapefruit

3 large Ruby Red grapefruits

2 tablespoons Bonne Maman Apricot Preserves

Adjust an oven rack to the top position and preheat the broiler to high. Slice a thin piece off from each end of each grapefruit, then halve the grapefruits crosswise (each half should be able to stand upright). Use a paring knife to slice between the segments and the membrane, then brush 1 tablespoon of the Bonne Maman Apricot Preserves over the surface of each grapefruit. Transfer the grapefruit halves, flesh side up, to an aluminum-foil-lined baking sheet.

Broil the grapefruit until it begins to caramelize, 8 to 9 minutes (watch the grapefruit closely, as broiler intensities vary). Remove the grapefruit from the oven and set aside to cool slightly before serving.
